Primary Purpose:

Support the performance of solar energy projects covering multiple technologies.

Principal Duties and Resposibilities:

The position will involve a wide variety of diverse assignments including: resource assessment, due diligence, siting, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, strategic planning, policy evaluation, and pro forma economic analysis. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: lead and contribute to authorship of reports, studies, and proposals. Develop technical and economic analyses of projects and technologies using models built in Microsoft Excel. Coordinate work with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions. Assess regulatory, technical, and market issues to evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options. Manage data and prepare periodic analysis updates. Perform research including literature reviews, telephone calls, and internet-based research. The position could also include exposure to other renewable technologies: biomass, wind, geothermal, hydro, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience with proven experience with solar energy projects. Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university a plus. NAPCEP Certified PV installer required.Some course work on energy systems, specific knowledge of solar energy technologies is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email. Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Masters degree or MBA would be beneficial. It would be beneficial to have an interest in all renewable energy technologies
