Commercial Solar Sales Executive

Key Responsibilities:

Employee shall be responsible for identifying, qualifying and responding to RFPs and public bidding opportunities for photovoltaic systems on commercial businesses and government properties in specified geographic areas (CA, NV, AZ, TX, FL). Employee shall represent Employer in a professional, ethical and legal manner and in accordance with corporate objectives. Employee recognizes maintaining company reputation in the public bidding market is a team effort and shall use best efforts to ensure compliance with qualification and response criteria and faithful adherence to contracted (bid) work.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identify bidding opportunities using all resources available, qualify those opportunities to pursue, and manage the production of the bid response;
  • Track opportunities, milestone events and results in the CRM system of record.
  • Work with solar estimating department to produce required submittals in response to bidding opportunities;
  • Maintain a solid knowledge base of local code requirements, products, roofing processes, solar installation practices, and industry norms;
  • Recommend creative means for identifying prospective bidding opportunities and growing business;
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of competitors;
  • Attend and represent company at bid walks, scope meetings, trade shows as necessary;
  • Participate in corporate teams to solve key issues;
  • Achieve sales and margin goals;

Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Must be self-driven, highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Min. two years commercial sales experience including at least one year in the solar industry
  • Must understand the fundamental design requirements of a commercial solar electric system
  • Must have a general understanding of building construction
  • Must be familiar with the state and federal incentives for solar
  • Must be familiar with best practices in public bidding opportunities
  • Ability to work under stress to meet deadlines and quotas
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be a team player, and be able to handle a high volume of leads
  • Must have clean DMV, pre-employment physical & drug screen
  •
